Fox River in Oswego
Oswego ECO Commission
Leader: George Stenitzer 630-215-6751

Twice a year, PSC and friends clean up the Fox River in Montgomery and Oswego. Our car shift will be at 9:30 a.m. from the park on the west side of the Fox, downstream from the Montgomery Dam and upstream from the Mill Street bridge. You can sign up for the clean-up at: http://www.prairiestatecanoeists.org/trip-schedule.html

The ECO Commission of Oswego will award a $25 prize for the most unusual item retrieved from the river.  ECO will also serve volunteers a lunch at noon at Hudson Crossing Park (above the Washington Street/US 34 bridge).

We'll supply garbage bags, work gloves and "grabbers."

The attached photos show you how much we've achieved in past clean-ups and how great our volunteers are.  Hope to see you there!

Happy paddling

NOTE:

  • Friends of the Fox River will no longer be supplying water bottles to cleanups due to the environmental issues surrounding them. As an alternative, FOFR will supply a large cooler of water to refill your personal water bottle.
  • Friends of the Fox River's Fox Rescue cleanups are funded through a generous grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's SCALE grant program.
